The number of people addicted to different drugs in Montenegro is continuously growing, and the system continues to neglect the magnitude of the problem. We are losing the battle, Jovan Bulajić, psychologist and director of NGO Preporod, said in Colors of the Morning.
He states that the situation in Montenegro is not much different compared to the region.
"But researches say that the situation is less bad compared to the surrounding states. We should not be satisfied".
Bulajić explains that from the first research to the present day, the rate of abuse of all substances that are the subject of research is constantly increasing.
"It is a study that deals with sixteen-year-olds and is divided by substance, but each one shows growth to a greater or lesser extent. On the other hand, we have continuous neglect by the system in relation to the size of the problem. The rate of abuse by minors is increasing," he points out. .
And the registers, in which already active addicts who have requested help should be recorded, do not exist.
"We don't have a registry because of various non-actions by people who are in the system of that registry, nothing is being done. We are losing the battle," said Bulajić.
He also adds that when substitution therapy was introduced, they were against the bill, because they knew about the consequences in all other countries.
