Ivanović: The new city administration should put a moratorium and stop the frantic living over Gorica

Citizens, among them Aleksandar Tomašević, protested several times against the construction site of the building in Gorica, above the "Ambassador" hotel, towards the Partizan - fighter monument. Admitting that the building has no place there, even the capital tried to exchange plots with investors, but it didn't work...

Aleksandar Tomašević says that this is "a true example, those plots and others, of the true scale of corruption and crime in urban planning and the destruction of the environment and space. It is no longer two floors and an attic, but four. The four-story building reaches the height of the Monument, that is madness at 50m from the Monument".

On the other side of Gorica, the works of the Okov company on the building above the "Zija" hotel have been stopped. As we know, the works have been stopped until the project documentation is changed and a new consent is obtained.

Director and member of the Association of Gorica Fans Mladen Ivanović recalls how it all started, "15 years ago and more, when Miomir Mugoša was at the helm, a very harmful DUP "Nova varoš 2" was created, on the basis of which all those who enjoy the rights to they are committing crimes against Gorica, they are actually committing them. Ten years later, with the amendments to that DUP, 2018, to put even more pressure, to increase the number of floors of those buildings. That Gorica be surrounded from all sides".

And the locals stood up against the construction of a large four-story building with as many as 40 apartments at the end of Beogradska Street. After the collapse of part of the excavation, they say that it is now calm...

The owner of the house, Lidija Vukčević, said that "they are currently repairing part of our fence, they are finishing it, and the rest, we have to wait to see what the state architect will tell us".

Here, too, the modification of the project documentation is in progress. As expected, a building will still be built there, but with fewer floors.

And fans of Gorica say that the private interests of a small group of people cannot come before the interests of more than 200.000 citizens of Podgorica.

Tomašević says that "investors wave papers, "we have all the permits", someone enabled them to create such chaos, nobody can do anything to them, literally private interest".

Ivanović adds that the solution is "once and for all, now that the new city administration comes very soon, to put a moratorium and to stop this frantic living over Gorica and then see and enter into legal acts".

Ivanović and Tomašević finally conclude that we failed to protect the hill in the center of the city.

Ivanovic emphasized that "it is the state's job, if there is no state, then we have to go around like that..."

Tomašević points out that "Podgorica, believe me, has no future without Gorica".
