There are no announcements that there could be problems and that we could have unforeseen circumstances that could threaten the inauguration of the newly elected President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, the Minister of Internal Affairs said in Colors of the Morning Filip Adzic.
For now, he said, the presence of over 200 dignitaries who will attend the inauguration accompanied by their teams has been confirmed.
"We have three intensive days. Tonight we will have a spectacular event on the Square, the celebration of Independence Day. There will be over a thousand guests, it will be a meaningful gathering at which a large number of protected personalities will be present," Adžić said.
And then on Sunday, Independence Day celebrations will follow throughout Montenegro.
Adžić said that at the suggestion of the Director of the Police Administration, Nikola Terzić, an Operational Headquarters was formed which will take care of security all three days.
"All available UP forces will be engaged. We owe thanks to those officers because they will be on duty while the others are celebrating. We have a sufficient number of police officers, some will work overtime. We have over 1.500 vacant positions for police officers, we work in those conditions, but they they work responsibly, often overtime, and fulfill their obligations," said the minister.
Adžić says that in the conversation about the organization of the inauguration with Milatović, he expressed his point of view, and said that it is much simpler for the Police Directorate to secure the event in Podgorica, but that he can choose any place in Montenegro for that act.
"Montenegro does not have any problem with the organization of any event when it comes to what is the official state protocol. We do not see any group or individual that could threaten the state protocol that must be implemented. Time when certain groups are out of the worst motives caused certain problems is behind us. Everyone has the right to express their dissatisfaction, but what were the urges of those who lost power, when they repeatedly tried to destabilize Montenegro, is really something we will not see again," Adžić pointed out.
He explains that there are many more officials in Podgorica and that such events, with many guests, are organized more often in Podgorica, there are more access roads...
"Even if Cetinje was chosen, everything could have ended".
When asked how, as a native of Cetinje, he views that decision, Adžić replied that he would not divide the cities across Montenegro.
"If this event took place in any city, I believe it would be a great honor. I think that Cetinje would also be honored with that event. As a resident of Cetinje, I would prefer that event to take place in Cetinje. As the Minister of Police, I would prefer that which takes place in Podgorica," he said.
The MUP has still not received an official confirmation of the arrival of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.
