By blocking the roundabout between Block V and Block VI, citizens from that part of Podgorica once again expressed their indignation at the announced construction of the hotel.
Since there was no reaction from the authorities after the first protest on June 12, they were forced, according to resident Petar Minić, to block traffic as a sign of dissatisfaction.
He claims that the land on which the investor "Šajo Group" wants to build a hotel was once municipal, and that only part of it belonged to the Rakčević family.
"We are aware that a year ago, up to a year and a half ago, the Rakčević family bought the part on which they want to build a hotel. We will only get additional information about that, because we also received that information unofficially," said Minic.
On the other hand, investor Žarko Rakčević points out that it is private land and that all actions are carried out in accordance with the law. He also notes that the Detailed Urban Plan also regulates the use of the area.
"Already in two DUPs, a P+3 facility has been drawn here, storeys: ground floor and three floors, total gross developed construction area of about 1.300 square meters, all together on those floors. During the public discussion, there were no objections to the DUP and it was not passed now, but on two occasions it was foreseen by the DUP", he points out.
The Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism said that the inspection controls the submitted construction application and documentation.
"We inform you that on June 16.06.2023, 121, under number 745-23/4973-1/XNUMX, at the Office of the Ministry, a construction application for the object in question was received. The Urban and Construction Inspection is checking the submitted construction application and the documentation submitted with it, about for which they will draw up a record and state the established factual situation, and in the further proceedings take further administrative measures and actions in accordance with their powers and within their competences," said the ministry.
