After the inhabitants of the Old Town protested, among other things, because of garbage and uncleanliness, the Budva Communal Enterprise claims that they have had this problem for years.
Aleksandra Rajković, from the Komunalna predezju, pointed out that the problem arose from the impossibility of reaching an agreement with restaurateurs within the Old Town.
"A specific problem is that restaurateurs do not take care of the way they dispose of waste, especially when it comes to leftover food from restaurants. We have repeatedly appealed that it be in green plastic bins, which we would empty directly into our small car at the agreed time - garbage can to avoid unnecessary leakage of contents. It happened that caterers spilled over-heated oil from fryers, leftover food, especially if it was fish. Irregular washing and garbage collection is not a problem." she pointed out.
In the meantime, an agreement was reached with the Catering Association, which will dispose of waste in green bins, and the Municipal Company will empty them in four terms.
