"Vodovod" workers, 560 of them, are still waiting for their salary for August. The opposition Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) informed the public that their salary was delayed for the first time in 23 years, accusing the new Podgorica government of incompetence. They, on the other hand, blame the former management for the situation in Vodovod.

"The Democratic Party of Socialists is responsible for the fact that Vodovod today owes over five and a half million euros. Only when it comes to salary contributions, which have not been paid since February, Vodovod today owes over 750 thousand euros. According to previous analyzes it was determined that the surplus of employees was up to 30 percent, which is the best confirmation of the thesis that Vodovod was the party's largest base of party employment," said Danilo Šaranović, deputy mayor of Olivera Injac.

Šaranović says that the payment of wages is their priority and that they are doing everything to pay it tomorrow at the latest. When asked why salaries are delayed for the first time in "Vodovod", this is the answer.

"Because the revenues from the basic activity of the Waterworks are up to three times less than the costs themselves. This situation can be called a pre-bankruptcy situation", Saranović explains.

At the same time, the DPS announced that the Management Board of Vodovod, while the salaries of the employees are late, has prepared a decision to increase the salary of the new director, Ratko Vujović. Ironically, they say that this is where the responsibility of the new city administration can best be seen.

"While the 560 employees of the city's "Waterworks" still haven't received their August salary, the Management Board of the company is increasing the salary of the executive director. For the "believe it or not" section, said Ivan Vuković, a member of the DPS in the Parliament of Montenegro.

"That decision will not be applied, due to the fact that that decision has been invalidated, it will not produce any legal effect. When we determine whose request it was requested to increase the coefficient for the executive director's earnings, we will of course demand responsibility from the person responsible." Saranovic said.

Šaranović accuses the former management of Vodovod of placing as many as 84 employees in some kind of management positions.

"That the director has two deputies, five assistant directors, five sector directors and dozens of other sector managers and bosses. And you have several directors, so people who receive wages of 1500 euros have not come to work for years," Saranović emphasized.

In the end, Šaranović says that by changing the Statute, he will reduce the number of fictitious functions, rationalize costs and value work, not party merit.
