For decades, the state of Montenegro has been paying compensation due to the illegal decisions of its officials, and soon this practice could change.
The protector of property and legal interests sued the former chief special prosecutor Milivoj Katnić and the former minister of education Vesna Bratić, demanding that they compensate the state for the money they paid for their illegal work. These are the first cases in which public office holders could be held accountable, if the court determines that they intentionally or through gross negligence caused damage to the state.
The lawyers of Katnić and Vesna Bratić claim for TV Vijesti that the lawsuits are unfounded.
