There is every possibility that in February the streets will be full of disgruntled workers. In addition to educators and health workers who have announced the possibility of protest, employees in the administration and judiciary will try to fight for higher salaries in front of the Government building on February 1.
The Administration and Judiciary Union claims that the Government refused to sit down with them at the common table, in order to try to agree on a ten percent increase in their salary, in accordance with the Branch collective agreement.
"We can get to those big promises of a thousand or so euros with smaller steps, and that is by respecting the Branch Collective Agreement that was previously signed. So, it is impossible that we cannot increase the salary on an annual level by only 70, 80 euros on average, and to say that we will enable salaries of a thousand or so euros", said Edin Mušović from the Trade Union of Administration and Justice.
"This government, i.e. everyone together from the governing body, refused the newly extended hand of cooperation, they didn't even honor us with the invitation of the Lord from the government, if they won't pay the judiciary and the tax administration as they deserve, if they won't pay an educator and a health worker adequately, it will have what happens every day, the departure of young and professional people to the life of guest workers with their bellies behind their bread", said the President of the Trade Union Nenad Rakočević.
Dissatisfied with the non-fulfillment of their request, they scheduled a protest in front of the Government building for February 1, to which they invited all those whose interests they represent - over 25 thousand employees. They have a plan in case the government ignores their request even then.
"If they don't listen and continue hard with disrespecting the Branch collective agreement, i.e. disobeying the law, the next step is the possibility of suspending work for a period of time + One of the options is blocking roads in all cities, protests in front of all authorities and institutions where our membership", Rakočević said.
They do not rule out the possibility of joining with other unions, of which educators and health workers have also announced the possibility of a strike next month.
