Šaranović: There is nothing in the "blue notebook" that incriminates Šuković

Interior Minister Danilo Šaranović does not yet know whether the "blue notebook" that testifies to the fact that the head of the Special Police Department, Predrag Šuković, advised the arrested President of the Municipality of Budva, Milo Božović, is authentic.

Unlike Justice Minister Andrej Milović, who believes that she further compromises Šuković, Šaranović sees nothing controversial.

"Mr. Šuković was not the head of the Special Police Department (SPO) at that time, but an officer of the border police sector, who, if this is really true, communicated at that moment with a member of the Parliamentary Committee for Defense and Security who had a legitimate need, having in the form of a topic dealt with by the Board, to find out certain information. There was talk about the Udar affair, the Udar portal, Belivuk, and so on. Saranovic said.

Šaranović points out that he is not the addressee who knows the answer when the Government will decide on his proposal for the dismissal of the current police director Zoran Brđanin, which he has been asking for since the end of December. He repeats that he is ready to propose more candidates, and when asked by Television News - whether there is an agreement between the Democrats and the Europe Now Movement (PES) regarding candidates, he answers that principles are more important than names.

"Political parties will not, starting with Democratic Montenegro, not staff in the security sector, and that in the security sector we will not have political appointments, but appointments exclusively based on the principles of meritocracy and professional courage".

The minister confirmed that the head of his security is policeman Vuk Vuković, who was convicted for excessive use of force during the action in Cetinje a few years ago, during the search of a cafe in which there were persons of security interest and members of criminal groups.

"This is not about a police officer who was connected to cocaine trafficking and crime or who tortured free citizens..."

The first man of the MUP also said that he was not aware of the stage of the proceedings on the report of the Minister of Public Administration Maraš Dukaj against the Turkish criminal Binali Čamgoz due to threats, because Dukaj allegedly did not fulfill the alleged promise to provide Čamgoz with asylum in Montenegro.
