Tara Resources will have a representative in the interdepartmental commission that will examine the concession Agreement on the opening of the Brskovo Mine, says relevant minister Saša Mujović.

The company announced yesterday that there is no legal basis to terminate the contract they signed with the Government in 2010, because they claim to have submitted the necessary technical documentation.

"The response of the Government of Montenegro to the company Tara Resources will be fair, although I still maintain that the behavior of that company is extremely unfair. Really great masters of presentations, announcements, and someone who doesn't respect doesn't obey the clear procedure of how to get some permissions. I don't accept presentations, I don't accept invitations to meetings where they will convince and dissuade me, I only ask for the documentation required by the legislation of our country to be submitted,'' says Mujović.

Mujović, who repeated several times that the contract should be terminated, says that they should first provide the public with a verified feasibility study and the date under which it was filed.

"The report on the impact on the environment that they submitted or not, whether they received a response from the Environmental Protection Agency, if so, which ones and finally to submit that famous study of the economic justification of the mine, if they have it, that is, if they attached it , and I claim that they are not, let them show the date under which it was filed. We will be as fair and as open as possible, provide a chance, examine, but also decide for God's sake as the law dictates," says the minister.

In the following period, it should be decided whether production will be restarted in the Berane Coal Mine. At today's meeting of the minister with the owner of the bankrupt mine, representatives of Elektroprivreda and the municipality of Berane, it was concluded that this should be preceded by a detailed analysis.

"Detailed economic analysis of whether the project is viable, profitable and sustainable in the long run, because we want to behave responsibly. We can start the process of starting production, however, it would not be right to leave problems to those who will come after us, that people who would find employment have some peace and stability," says Mujović.

The President of the Municipality of Berane, Vuko Todorović, says that the employment of 120 workers would mean a lot for that municipality.

"At this moment, we have to be careful, and I'm sure there is good will. The economic analysis will be comprehensive and will show whether there are opportunities to restart production in our mine," says Todorović.

Mine owner Branko Zečević pointed out that there are significant coal reserves and that with certain models of cooperation with Elektroprivreda and the Coal Mine in Pljevlje, exploitation and production can begin in four to six months from the final decision.

EPCG Board President Milutin Đukanović agreed that this is realistic, but that cooperation models should be analyzed first.
