The director of the Podgorica Waterworks, Aleksandar Nišavić, said that January water bills are about 40 cents higher, which is an increase of about five percent compared to 2023.
At the same time, bills for legal entities were reduced by about 23 percent, which translates to about nine euros.
Nišavić also said in the Morning Colors on TV Vijesti that citizens and companies owe about four million euros for water.
When asked how much Vodovod will earn from higher bills this year, he answered that if the projections of suppressed water and invoiced water in the previous year are taken, the projected revenue growth is around 750.000 euros.
"However, on the other hand, we have an increase in wage costs in accordance with the branch collective agreement that was adopted at the end of October, so that the said increase does not even cover that expenditure, let alone other prices that are significantly higher compared to the previous period, which also concern basic materials and basic elements that are used in daily work. We have an increase of about 1,4 million euros in 2024 based on the growth of employees' wages alone," Nišavić said.
He said that it was available to the prosecutor's office, which formed the case regarding the controversial allocation of apartments to employees of that company, and that in the criminal report he pointed to numerous violations of rules and procedures.
