The Parliamentary Anti-Corruption Committee could soon start the procedure for electing members of the Council of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK), which has been awaited since the end of July last year.
Deputy President of the Committee Momčilo Leković says that the ball is in the court of the president of that parliamentary body.
"I expect the president of the Anti-corruption Committee - Mr. Eraković to convene that session in the next few days. As far as I am familiar with the Rules of Procedure, if he does not do this, then the Speaker of the Parliament has the possibility to call a meeting of the Committee. I simply don't see any reason to obstruct, stop or postpone it, we simply have to react promptly and urgently in this case", Leković pointed out.
TV Vijesti tried to find out which scenario is more realistic from Jevto Eraković (DPS), but he did not answer calls and messages.
The Anti-corruption Committee, which has held only one session since the constitution of this convocation, should, once it meets, issue a call for the election of members of the KAS Council.
The director of the Agency, Jelena Perović, says that they have sent urgent calls to the Assembly several times.
"We were left without an answer. The agency needs a Council and we can't wait for it to be elected," said Perović.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Justice and Corruption, Momo Koprivica, announced a few months ago that he would initiate the election of a new KAS Council, which would also deal with the responsibility of the current director.
They can't wait for that to happen in the ASK trade union organization. They point out, however, that the new convocation should first of all review the work of the director, against whom they filed several complaints on several grounds.
"The ban on trade union activity, she forbade us to go to work. Imagine a situation where the director gives himself 700 euros of variables every month and overtime of 40 hours every month, without any records. It's unbelievable what the institution has been brought to, mostly because of some lack of interest on the part of the decision makers and the Assembly,'' said the president of the ASK Trade Union Organization, Dušan Drakić.
And while the Union claims that 10 KAS employees were suspended for union activity, Perović states that they were removed from their jobs due to violation of their official duties.
"Of course, all of that is incorrect, it's all some kind of manipulation, I don't know what their goal is, except that it's political pressure on this institution," emphasized Perović.
That's how Perović reads the fact that she was recently questioned for the third time by the police. She claims that she was not told what criminal offense she was being interrogated for, and that there is no doubt that she committed anything illegal.
