Although many doubted, the first Montenegrin satellite "Luča" will fly into space in a few months, according to the organization "Montenegro Space Research", which is behind this satellite.
"The satellite is on an excellent trajectory, its development is of course, it will take off in December this year, that is 99 percent certain," said Filip Jovićević from the "Montenegro Space Research" organization.
In addition to Filip, the Montenegrin Luča was also carried by Nina Drakulić and Nikola Perović, and it will be carried to space by the currently most reliable rocket.
"We decided on the one that is currently the most reliable in the industry, which is the Soyuz and it flies from three locations in the world - Kazakhstan, the new modern Vostochny cosmodrome located on the very border of Russia and China, and French Guyana. The one where our satellite will most likely take off is Vostočni", explains Jovićević.
The ongoing satellite testing is going smoothly, and one percent to one hundred percent of Luča's sending into space depends on the provider.
"There may be some technical delays regarding the rocket. As for the satellite, it will definitely be ready, we are just waiting for news about the rocket that will launch it," Jovićević said.
In order for this area to continue to develop in Montenegro, Jovićević points out that it is necessary to provide, first of all, technical conditions.
"First of all, legal regulations because this industry is not only satellites, there is also the development of rockets, model rockets, there are fuels, that is something that needs to be clearly regulated. On the other hand, to provide some rooms, laboratories where all this could be done properly".
The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MPNI) says that it will continue to support space research, in accordance with the Law and Strategy on Scientific Research Activity.
"Scientific research activity is carried out by a scientific research institution, and the head of the institution is obliged to, before starting work, submit to the Ministry an application for the issuance of a work license, for which it is necessary to fulfill certain conditions," stated the MPNI.
The department of Anđela Jakšić Stojanović is also aware that the potential of space solutions has not yet been fully utilized, and that this should be encouraged.
And the sky is not the limit, those who erase all the lines know best.
"It is not an impossible mission," concluded Jovićević.
