"In the Municipality of Andrijevica, the situation is such that on several occasions it has not been possible to vote on the proposal for the removal of the President of the Municipality in Andrijevica," said the Minister of Spatial Planning and Urbanism, Janko Odović.
The government has finally threatened to introduce forced administration in Andrijevica if the local parliament does not vote on the dismissal of the President of the Municipality Željko Ćulafić from the Socialist People's Party (SNP) by the end of next week, which has been prevented for over half a year by a group of citizens who support the local government. And despite the Government's threat, it doesn't look like it's going to happen.
The Speaker of the Parliament, Mladen Đukić, from the Democrats, scheduled the session for March 28, but the only item on the agenda that is known for now is the Budget Proposal, since the Municipality has been on temporary financing since the beginning of the year.
It is certain that there is no majority for the budget, since three councilors left the governing parties earlier, and the opposition Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) will not support it.
"At the party bodies, we will make the final decision whether to attend that session at all, given that the current government, i.e. the President of the Assembly and the President of the Municipality turned a deaf ear to the submitted initiatives for their dismissal. 100 percent of DPS councilors will not vote for the budget, only in the meantime if someone does not express their opinion. There are some bazaar stories that one of our councilors, which has not been the practice so far, will vote for the budget," said Dejan Ivanović from DPS.
The DPS is asking for a session to be scheduled as soon as possible to discuss their initiatives for the dismissal of Ćulafić and Đukić.
"There is legal anarchy on the scene. The President of the Assembly should schedule them and create the conditions for these sessions to take place. If they have a majority, good luck to them, if they don't have a majority, they should have been dismissed a long time ago," Ivanović points out.
If the sessions on this are not held, the Government has announced that it will form a Board of Commissioners that would manage the city until the special elections, and the regular ones would certainly be held in the third quarter of this year.
