The Democrats remaining in the executive power will depend on whether some things, such as staffing, will be corrected in the next few months, said their leader, Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Bečić.
He believes that the Administrative Court can only state that the appointment of the Acting Director of the Police Administration is illegal, but he does not rule out surprises, given the situation in the judiciary.
In an interview with TV Vijesti, Bečić said that at the meeting of the parliamentary majority, the position is affirmed that there is no change to the agreement or the entry of someone else into the Government, if all the signatories do not agree.
And, he says, there is no disagreement in the Democrats.
"Why should we leave? Let me answer with a counter question, that is, to ask another question. If someone thinks that it is not allowed to fight for the principles of legality and justice within the institutions of the system, or if someone thinks that we should return to the ways of one mind and not allowing a different attitude , opinions, advocacy for certain principles and values, whatever position you are in, then someone has the possibility to propose the termination of the coalition agreement where we are all elected together, in the House of Citizens. I would also like to remind you of ours common results for these five months, because with our joint efforts we have achieved impressive results in many areas that have enabled Montenegro to unblock institutions for many years. that certain things be corrected," Bečić told Television Vijesti.
Because of the election of the acting director of the police, you also announced criminal charges against the Government and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, and in the end, your minister Šaranović filed a complaint with the Administrative Court. What do you expect from this procedure?
"To be completely precise, the Minister of the Interior announced in that turbulent and dynamic evening, that is, already in the morning, that he expressed doubt about the existence of certain criminal parts due to the illegalities that occurred, but that everything should be decided by the court After that, the competent prosecutor's office announced that the Administrative Court must first judge the legality or illegality of the legal act that was adopted who told me that what happened that evening at the Government session was anything but an absolutely illegal process and an illegal act. What can you expect, if we are guided by principles and if the principles of legality, justice and fairness are taken into account, epilogue is very clear, but also in Montenegro, especially in the judiciary of Montenegro, full of various intrigues and miracles, you can never say anything definitively somewhere, because it belongs to the authorities, but there are never ending surprises, so let's wait for the epilogue"
Can the Government be functional with this level of mistrust between the main constituents?
"I wouldn't immediately jump into the qualifications of trust or distrust. I guess differences of opinion are part of democracy. Even this democracy of ours. We have so many member countries in the EU, very often opposing opinions that are not even publicly hidden, but in the end compromises are sought , there is a compromise and the processes are moving forward. If we did not express our views and did not express our disagreement with what happened in some sessions and in some parts of the sessions, you, many citizens, would probably ask, why were you silent? was to always point out, regardless of the fact that we are in the government, that we are part of the government, to what we think is not good. and we should be guided and based on this the qualification of trust or distrust - the principles of legality, respect for the coalition agreement".
You pledged support to the Government until the final benchmarks for Chapters 23 and 24 were obtained, and then announced that you would analyze the further stay. What will depend on whether you stay in the government?
"What does a fundamental analysis mean? It certainly implies an analysis of legality in the work, an analysis of respect, above all those program principles that we defined in the coalition and the agreement, an analysis of the conduct of personnel policies, achieved results and other cause-and-effect issues, so that, given a chance of a few months , gave us space to correct some things and to set things up in the way we agreed at the beginning. .
A meeting of the leaders of the ruling coalition was held recently, in an attempt to overcome the differences, but there was no progress. Is it known when the new meeting is and what you will insist on?
"I don't think the exact date has been defined yet, I'm certainly not the host of that meeting. As for insistence, in every place and always, with a lot of patience and a lot of willingness to follow the path of stability, I insist exclusively on these principles in which I told you - to respect the principles of legality in work and that, I repeat not accidentally, we respect and respect each other, this means that we never make partial agreements, but that we make a multilateral agreement, and that is an agreement when we are all together and all at the same table as we go, I believe there is room for optimism".
Will there be a government reconstruction soon, and what if the prime minister invites the Bosniak party, for example, to be part of the executive power, what will you do?
"The question of the timing of the reconstruction is in accordance with the agreement, a question for the prime minister. As for the second part of the question, Democratic Montenegro will not support any initiative that goes in the direction of revising the coalition agreement, which we signed together, either in terms of program principles, constituents, division of areas But what I really want to point out, to be completely correct, is that at the last meeting I noticed that there was no contestation, even in a large part it was an affirmation of the principle that any changes in the coalition agreement should be the product of only if there is the consent of all those who signed it".
What are the relations within Democratic Montenegro? Are there any disagreements about certain important issues when it comes to public policies?
"I don't have any information or that anyone has informed me at any party body or any other party format or meeting about any disagreements or disagreements with the party's policy and decisions. We reached these conclusions unanimously at the last session of the Presidency. there is some, I saw, manipulation on the part of the public...Well, there is no such body in Montenegro where everyone attends and where everyone has the opportunity to attend the sessions of the body.''
