Although it was announced in January that the inspections would be merged with the line ministries, the director of the Directorate for Inspection Affairs Ana Vujošević said that there had been no concrete discussions with the authorities in the meantime, and that they did not know what stage the reorganization of their work was in. She said in "Boja jutra" on TV Vijesti that the inspection carries out its activities regularly, according to the program of activities submitted to the Government at the end of January. He notes, however, that the Government has not yet officially adopted that program.
"We saw that the pre-season has already started, that according to official statistics, there are a few thousand tourists in Herceg Novi, and in Kotor about a thousand and a half, so all those municipalities require control and the presence of inspectors on the ground, which we do. We are now preparing for the summer tourist season, this means that all those activities that are in focus during the enhanced supervision are prepared, so we are now participating preventively, visiting the subjects of supervision that will provide their services during the summer tourist season and pointing out the business in that part that need to be coordinated, so that they can welcome the season ready and with quality," Vujošević pointed out.
She said that the annexation of inspections to relevant ministries just before the season could have a negative impact on inspection control during the summer.
"I don't think it's a good time for something like this. Definitely, those changes would not be good, they would not have quality content and supervision during the intensified summer supervision, so I hope that the idea will be abandoned, so in the end it should be analyzed at another time and certainly at least a year of preparatory activities are needed carry out.”
