On Monday, April 8, the Basic Court in Podgorica will give a verdict to Dušan Klikovac and Vojin Prenkić, who are accused of attacking gamekeepers Vuk Saičić and Marko Glušćević at Lake Skadar in February, during poaching.
Klikovac and Prenkic deny guilt, while the Prosecution is asking for a prison term of half to a year.
The final hearing in the trial of Klikovac and Prenkić was held in the Basic Court in Podgorica.
The defendants are charged with criminal offenses: assault on an official in the performance of official duties and illegal hunting, and the Prosecution requests that they be punished.
Klikovac and Prenkić deny the attack, but admit that they fished illegally. Their lawyer claims that it is not a crime, but a misdemeanor, for which a fine is provided.
In the video, which was published on social networks, you can see how the gamekeepers try to stop the poachers, but they break away and start to beat them.
Saičić hopes that judge Ilija Radulović will properly appreciate that recording as well as other evidence.
Saičić claims that the importance of every verdict in the fight against poaching is immeasurable.
According to Saičić, the monk Filip Klikovac, from the Kom monastery, helped the poachers, who will be charged with a misdemeanor. At the time, the monastery denied those accusations.
