The Council of the Radio Television of Montenegro (RTCG) will not change its decision on the election of Boris Raonic as the General Director of the Public Service.
This can be concluded from their response submitted to the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK), which ordered them a month ago to review the decisions on the election of Raonic, and that in the future the election of the general director does not raise suspicions of corruption.
The ASK then concluded that in both procedures for the appointment of Raonic, there was "endangerment of the public interest, which points to the existence of corruption".
In the Council's response, which Television News had access to, it is written that it is not clear to them how the ASK instructed them to review the decision on the appointment of Raonic, in the context of the Law on Administrative Procedure, nor what the review of that decision would entail.
They also state that the ASK previously established that there was no conflict of interest during the re-election of Raonic.
When it comes to work experience and the position of KAS that, according to the Law on the National Public Broadcaster, Raonic would only acquire the condition to be a director in 2028, the RTCG Council claims that the legislator did not explicitly prescribe that condition.
The Law's norm, which reads "that a person who has at least the seventh level of educational qualifications and at least ten years of work experience can be appointed as the general director of RTCG, is seen by the Council as two separate conditions, and therefore the choice of Raonic is not disputed."
