There are about 4.000 university graduates at the Employment Office, of which 1.225 have a VI level of education (bachelor), about 2.500 have a VII level, that is, university graduates with completed four-year studies, 257 master's degrees and 19 PhDs.
At the bachelor's level, the majority are in the field of management - in trade, tourism, but also law, the economist said in a guest appearance on TV Vijesti's Colors of the Morning, Aleksandar Rakočević from the Employment Agency (ZZZCG).
"Out of some 2.700 vacancies for university graduates this year, we only have 82 bachelor's level vacancies. That's an extremely small percentage of what they're looking for. It's very possible that employers don't make a difference, public administration does. Because they there systematization dominantly with the VII level of education," Rakočević pointed out.
Research by the Network for Youth Activism showed that 48 percent of young people are focused on employment in public administration, which is one of the reasons why they more often decide to continue their studies, said David Vukićević from this organization.
"Young people definitely want to get a master's degree in addition to their bachelor's degree, because with such preferences they cannot find their place in the mentioned sectors. In 2019, the University of Montenegro had slightly more than 600 places for master's students, while for in 2023, that number will be slightly more than 1".
On the other hand, the Union of Employers says that educational institutions do not produce the staff needed by the economy.
"Our education system has failed to keep up with all that is happening, you have degrees, let's say a university education, but if that person does not know how to use some specialized software, he is almost unusable on the labor market. The public administration can hardly tolerate our it's sad and tolerates, let's say, some ignorance and inefficiency, it can be tolerated much more in the public administration than in the private sector , depending on the size of the company, if there are two or three employees, if one is like that, it simply threatens the survival of that company," said Filip Lazović from the Union of Employers.
