The announcement that stone from the Strmica hill in the Bjelo Polje village of Poda will soon be exploited has caused dissatisfaction among the locals who live nearby.
They are against it, because they say it will threaten their agricultural production, water sources and the tourist potential that this place has.
On the other hand, the concessionaire, the company Imperijal, headed by Vojislav Smolović, brother of the president of Bijelo Polje Municipality, Petar Smolović, points out that he will not endanger anyone with the exploitation of the stone, because he respects the entire legal procedure.
The Ministry of Energy confirmed that the procedure carried out before the start of exploitation is nearing the end and that the only thing missing is the Environmental Impact Assessment Elaborate.
