The long ago agony of completing the Bijelo Polje-Pljevlja road via Mijaković and Vrulja continues.
After the contract with the contractor was canceled three and a half months ago, the new tender was also canceled because none of the bidders responded.
The Traffic Administration explained to Television News that no one responded to the open public procurement procedure, because the estimated value was low.
And until a modern road is built to Pljevlja, you will travel on old and unsafe roads, with many curves and landslides.
Bridges and roads connect people, but the road that should connect Pljevljake with other municipalities more easily with two bridges will never be completed.
The tender worth five million and 786 thousand euros failed, because no one submitted an offer.
The works, in which more than four million have been invested so far, began in 2019 and were supposed to last a year, but the former contractor - "Tehnoput" missed the deadlines for almost five years, which is why the relevant ministry terminated the contract with them in February.
Forced to wait, those who have to use a section of only seven and a half kilometers, even if it is unfinished.
The mayor of the municipality, Dario Vraneš, is also aware of how much it would mean for the economy of Pljevlja and international connections.
"The state must treat Pljevlja much more seriously. I am afraid that the same situation will happen this year as last year, that we were totally cut off from the center of the state. At one point, all three road directions leading to Podgorica were blocked. The state and the ministers are constantly saying, and the minister of transport is almost visiting this section that they will do something about it, however, as we can see from the standstill, nothing has moved. This is the only real way out of Pljevlja towards the center of the country." Vranes said
Civil activist Miloš Ostojić points out that until a modern road is built, people will travel to Pljevlja on old and unsafe roads, with many curves and landslides.
