For the construction of the City Theater in Podgorica until 2016, close to eight million euros have been spent to date. And this would not be such a problem if the theater had not been built for eight years, and future works and purchases will, according to TV Vijesta, raise the total amount to nearly nine million. What has already been done, today is being done again due to incompetence and poor supervision.
"In the small hall, water appeared at the level of the seats and below in the rooms, it turned out that it was the return water in the hydrotechnical installations, it was dried up and now it's fine," says Vlatko Ćipranić, engineer of the Agency for Construction and Development of Podgorica .
In addition to the water in the small hall located in the basement, water also entered the theater building from the roof, so the TV Vijesti crew recorded wet and cracked walls, raised parquet and destroyed scenography in several places, so these works will also have to be carried out. again. In addition to the roof being poorly made, the expensive cooling and ventilation devices on it were not adequately protected either.
"Here, the construction of canopies started to protect the air conditioning chambers and fans, these are the fans that were removed from the roof," said Ćipranić.
The entrance hall, which was paid for a long time ago, was never completely finished, and what was done in the meantime was destroyed.
"We have now engaged some activities related to creating a new design of the project in order to make that part a little nicer compared to how it was planned to be", says Ćipranić.
Despite the large investment, due to the passage of time, a good part of the lighting is outdated, so this part will have to be redone.
"For sure, one part will be replaced. The main thing is that the stage equipment, which is the most expensive, is also the air ventilation equipment, that it is good," says Ćipranić.
And when all of the above is repaired and replaced, the theater must also buy not-so-cheap fire doors, a large chandelier for the entrance hall, fences and about 15 percent of the missing equipment. And that's not all, because the building has to be repainted, part of the tiles and parquet have to be changed, and broken windows and doors have to be replaced.
"One thing is certain, that due to the long execution of works on this building and due to all the unplanned circumstances that happened during the works, it is not gratifying to predict the deadline, but my estimate is that it is until the end of the year", stated Ćipranić.
The engineers who took over this project compared it to the landslide in Mojdež near Herceg Novi and say that all those who managed this project in the last eight years are to blame for the mistakes in the City Theater.
