Montenegro is one of the few countries in Southeast Europe and the only post-communist country on the European road that has not opened the files of the secret services, even though the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the European Parliament have invited us to do so.
On the website of the Parliament of Montenegro, a petition was recently launched to open the file, which is supported by human rights fighters, victims of Goli Otok and the non-governmental sector.
They note, however, that if the petition succeeds, as a society we must not allow it to be misused for the purposes of historical revisionism.
