The release of Assange is a great day for the freedom of investigative journalism and whistleblowers, because what the founder of WikiLeaks did, as well as Snowden and many others who reveal what the powerful would like to hide, is crucial for democracy and freedom, Milka Tadić said in "Morning Colors" Mijović, director of the Center for Investigative Journalism.
"It is very important, everywhere in the world, especially in our regimes and systems that do not yet have strong institutions that can protect whistleblowers," she pointed out.

"Everything we have read in recent years indicates that behind us is a difficult past, and the future is full of challenges, because it is very difficult to break the bond, this country is deeply criminalized and even some of the very important people who currently hold prominent positions were part of that unfortunate fraternity that captured this system. So, we see that those people who are fighting are also journalists and the media that publish Sky correspondence are under great attack," she said.
