The current deputy mayor Luka Rakčević will be at the head of the joint list of his URE and the Movement for Podgorica, which, according to all odds, will appear together in the September elections in Podgorica, TV News unofficially learns. The Movement for Change, with which they recently signed a Memorandum of Joint Action, could join them on the list of the broad civil bloc, but more details should be known next week.
And while the former councilors of the "Europe Now" Movement are going to one side, our sources say that their colleagues from yesterday will probably form a joint list with the Democrats, but it is still uncertain who will lead them. Current mayor Olivera Injac and Minister of Energy Saša Mujović, who is the president of the Podgorica PES, are mentioned as possible candidates for the leadership position. As we have learned, the Democrats will finally decide on the model of entry into the election race in the middle of the month, and no later than August 20 at the session of the Podgorica party committee.
Officially, even its president and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić does not reveal the cards on how PES will perform in the elections, who, however, does not hide that he is more than satisfied with Mujović's results.
"Our Podgorica team, led by our great minister Saša Mujović, I am convinced that they will come up with the best program and the best model of performance in the Podgorica elections," said Spajić.
When asked if this means that Mujović will be the holder of the list, he replied: "Mr. Mujović is the president of the Podgorica board of PES and one of the persons who will definitely be candidates to be the holder of the list+ He has my full support, full confidence".
And while mysteriousness remains Spajić's main feature, the prime minister is also adorned with optimism that the PES candidate will remain at the head of the Capital City.
In the meantime, some other political entities, which could be the tip of the scales when it comes to post-election combinatorics, have already announced that they will contest the elections independently. This was done today by the Party of European Progress, headed by former Prime Minister and DPS official Duško Marković. Last night they constituted the Committee of the Capital City chaired by Ilija Mugoš, but they will not announce until the end of the month who will lead their list for the Podgorica elections. And the list of former Minister of Justice Andrej Milović will enter the election race on September 29, just like Srđan Perić's Turn movement.
All in all, in the race for seats in the parliament of the capital, it seems that there will never be more interested. The only question is - is there room for everyone.
