The patient from Podgorica, who requested anonymity, claims that he is suffering damage from the health system. He had back surgery at the beginning of June and it was certain that he would be on sick leave for a long time, however, he has a problem every time he needs to extend it....
"The problem arises, on September 1 I need to bring them a report from a specialist doctor so that they can extend my sick leave, and I only have my first scheduled appointment with a specialist doctor in mid-October. Then I am forced to go to a private doctor, to pay for the first recording, in two segment, it's 230 euros, plus 90 euros for a specialist, that's about 320 euros," he pointed out.
Because of these anomalies, representatives of the Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro (USSCG) spoke with the leaders of the Health Fund.
"The result of that discussion should be that the director of the Health Insurance Fund sends a circular letter addressing the members of all commissions and appeals to them to consider with more sensitivity the extension of the temporary inability to work, especially for those insured persons whose diagnosis has not yet been established and for those whose absence from work implies a period longer than 60 days", said Ivana Mihajlović from USSCG.
The Health Fund briefly informed Television News that the members of the First Instance Commission are specialist doctors from different branches of medicine, who, three in a commission, make a decision on the need for further extension of sick leave and added that the Commission is guided by high professional and ethical principles.
"We must point out that the commission's task is very delicate and that mistakes can certainly happen, but even in that case there is a mechanism that the patient has at his disposal in the form of instructions for complaints or appeals to the second-level authority, that is, the Ministry of Health," said the Health Fund. .
"A lot of people complain about them. I won't say that I blame them, but I want to say that they didn't think about this part when they introduced the restrictions, and they should introduce them because there were abuses and all that, but they didn't think about this part," he said is a patient from Podgorica.
The Trade Union says that for years they have supported the intention of the institutions to prevent abuses, but on the other hand, we must not go against that.
"Insured persons, that is, employees, must not be victims of the slowness and inefficiency of the health system, public health, we are all witnesses that we wait for several months for certain specialist examinations, for certain imaging," said Mihajlović.
And what is to be expected, say the Union, is that the commissions that decide on the extension of sick leave, take this into account...
