MP of the Europe Now Movement (PES) Vasilije Čarapić transported the bed in an official vehicle of the Assembly, M portal announced, along with a photo of the Renault Megan car, which, according to the list of official vehicles on the website of the Assembly, was commissioned by Čarapić on behalf of the parliamentary club PES.
When asked by Television Vijesti whether he used an official vehicle to transport the bed, Čarapić first said that he did not want to answer, adding that he would submit photos as proof that he used another vehicle for this purpose.
Later, X claimed on the network that he used the official car for official purposes, but also admitted that during the day he used it to transport private things to the building where he lives.
He claims that the drive lasted less than two minutes, and that he paid for the fuel in the official vehicle out of his own pocket, while he hired a company that deals with transportation for all the remaining things he transported.
In the end, he concludes that he treats state property responsibly and believes that this is not a case of abuse, but that this situation may be a reflection of his poor security culture.
He also says that he is at the disposal of the parliamentary and competent authorities for any clarifications.
By the way, according to the rules for the use of the vehicle fleet that are on the website of the Parliament, Čarapić could only use the official vehicle during the weekend with the approval of the Secretary General of the Parliament, Aleksandar Klarić.
The rules imply that every deputy who uses an official vehicle must park it at the end of the working day and hand over the keys to the employee in charge of the vehicle fleet, and only when he returns from his official journey, after the end of working hours, can he park the vehicle in front of his apartment.
