24 million euros will be spent to improve energy efficiency in schools, 20 million of which will be provided through a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the remaining four through a grant from the European Fund for the Western Balkans.
"The project includes 12 facilities in the south, 9 facilities in the central region and three facilities in the north. These buildings serve different levels of education, including primary education (18 buildings), secondary (two buildings), preschool (two buildings) and high (one building ) and cover a total area of 93.220 square meters," said the Government.
In Podgorica, three elementary schools will be reconstructed - "Dragiša Ivanović", "Sutjeska" and "Pavle Rovinski", as well as the first phase of the new student dormitory and restaurant.
In Nikšić, there are four primary schools - Luka Simonović, Olga Golović, Ratko Žarić and Pavle Kovačević, as well as the Sunce kindergarten in Humci.
In Bar, the "Blažo Jokov Orlandić", "Kekec" and "Mexico" schools, as well as the "Niko Rolović" Gymnasium, are awaiting rehabilitation.
In Budva, the school "Stefan Mitrov Ljubiša" and the kindergarten "Ljubica V. Jovanović" and in Kotor two elementary schools - "Savo Ilić" and "Nikola Đurković", as well as the Gymnasium and the Naval High School.
In Tivat there is a primary school, "Drago Milović", as well as a secondary mixed school, "Mladost" and in Herceg Novi, a school, "Milan Vuković".
In the north of the country, three basic schools entered the program - "Dušan Obradović" in Žabljak, 25. maj" in Rozaje and "Džafer Nikočević" in Gusinje...
The reconstruction will bring improvements to the building envelope, heating and lighting systems, renewable energy sources and smart building technology, with the aim of reducing electricity consumption, carbon dioxide emissions and operating costs.
