Fugitive Alija Balijagić, suspected of the double murder of brother and sister Jovan and Milenko Madžgalj in Bijelo Polje, has not been brought to justice even after 11 days.
The police from as many as three countries are looking for the 65-year-old fugitive, but all reports that he was spotted in a village or municipality have so far turned out to be wrong.
Today, the focus of the public and the police was on the village of Orašac near Brodarevo in Serbia, where a state of siege has been in place since this morning.
Army, drones, tracking dogs, but there is still no sign of Balijagić. At least he is not looking for one that would turn out to be reliable and accurate.
Today, Orašac was the focus of the special units of Serbia, which arrived in this village, as TV News has learned, based on operational information. All that scared the locals.
The search for Balijagić is also being conducted in other border villages of Serbia and Montenegro.
"A large number of members of the police, special units and gendarmerie on the ground, it somewhat reduces our fear. The citizens are scared, but we are watching, we are helping as much as we can, which is within the scope of work of the local self-government. Part of the separate classes of the Brodarev school, three classes are dislocated to the home school, and three classes have not attended classes for two days, we are looking for a way and we are switching to online classes," said Drago Popadić, president of the Municipality of Prijepolje.
The places along the border of Serbia and Montenegro are well known to Balijagić, because as TV Vijesti was unofficially told by the Serbian police, this fugitive committed several crimes on their territory, including robberies, fights, and threats.
Regardless of whether they heard about Balijagić just now, or whether they know him from before, the residents of Prijepolje are terrified, even at the very thought that he is in their town.
Last night, several units of the Montenegrin police and the army searched the area around the village of Konatari in Bijelo Polje, following a report that a person resembling Balijagić had been spotted.
It turned out to be a fisherman, with a holster for fishing tackle, which allegedly resembles a rifle in the dark.
Although there have been many such reports, the police previously announced that they will check all the information they receive, so that the most wanted fugitive in Montenegro is finally caught.
