Finance Minister Novica Vuković announced that the budget proposal for 2025 is fiscally sustainable and responsible and that its key component is the improvement of citizens' standards.
Vuković, in his guest appearance on Colors of the Morning on Vijesti Television, stated that the budget includes increased wages under the Europe Now 2 program, as well as an increase in pensions, but also that the capital budget has never been bigger.
Commenting on the announced borrowing, Vuković points out that the public debt has not increased for the previous four years, that all obligations on that basis are regularly serviced, and that the public debt remains at the same level, and that the gross social product is growing.
He expects the most money from the collection of taxes, contributions and the legal sale of cigarettes.
Vuković said that the surplus of current consumption continues in October.
"We have higher revenues at the level of 190 million, if we exclude one-time revenues we have at the level of 330 million, so that tells us that we really have room to project GDP at the level of eight billion euros through the creation of our fiscal policy," Vuković said.
When asked where he expects the most money to come from, Vuković said that the collection of value added tax (VAT) has increased by 73 percent, if we are talking about the period 2020-2024.
"It was at the level of 695 million, and now it is at the level of one billion and 204 million. Then we have the collection of contributions, where it was 392, and now it is 539 million. We corrected the impression, the legal traffic of cigarettes increased by 706 tons. It was improved credit rating SEPA, Montenegro became the first member of the unified payment system when we talk about SEPI," said Vuković.
