The Youth Guarantee program, which was presented today in Podgorica, helps young people to find employment within four months after finishing school or losing their job.
The project represents the best European practice, the representatives of the institutions involved in the program announced today, and said that the program is dedicated to building a better future for young people.
The pilot project will start in January in three towns of Cenogorje, Bijela Polje, Nikšić and Ulcnje, and will last for two years.
"We heard that somewhere in Europe young people find work easily, both as students and pupils, while in Montenegro it was not easy in reality. What the Youth Guarantee brings is the best European practice", said Naida Nišić, Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue.
The program is designed for young people aged 14 to 29, and enables them to find a job within four months after completing their education.
The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue stated what the program entails.
"Connecting with employers for those who want a job, access to additional education for those who want knowledge and be competitive on the labor market, practical training or an internship program, for those who want to acquire specific skills on the labor market, for young entrepreneurs who have entrepreneurial ideas and ambitions," said Dragana Vojvodić from the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue.
"It is very important that we understand that the Youth Guarantee is a psychological-social approach to young people and provides them with support before entering the labor market," said David Perčobić, director of the Employment Service (ZZZ).
"It will take everyone's efforts to offer young people a better life and perspective, and the European Union is here to support you," said Brigit Kučer from the Delegation of the European Union (EU) in Montenegro.
The program has been applied in EU member states since 2013.
About 2,5 million euros have been allocated from the budget for the pilot project of the Youth Guarantee program, which will be implemented from January in three cities in Montenegro, in Bijelo Polje, Nikšić and Ulcinj.
