For Chapters 7, 10, 20 and 31 in the negotiations with the European Union (EU), Montenegro has fulfilled 100 percent of what was expected of us, Maida Gorčević, Minister of European Affairs, announced in Colors of the Morning on Vijesti Television.
Croatia supports the Euro-Atlantic path of Montenegro and will support the closing of every chapter in its negotiations with the European Union (EU) in which the required conditions are met.
This is what Vanda Babić Galić, a special adviser to the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia, told "Vijesta" yesterday, answering the questions - whether Zagreb will give the "green light" to close four chapters with Podgorica by the end of the year, that is, whether it will be against "knitting". some.
A session of the body of the Council of the EU - COREPER II (Committee of Permanent Representatives of Member States) is scheduled for today in Brussels, after which the Council will make a final decision.
"Everything that was the final criteria for the four chapters was fulfilled and submitted to the European Commission by Montenegro, which has had a series of meetings so far and positively assessed Montenegro's readiness to be aligned with European practices, policies and European law. What we expect today is that all 27 member states give an answer as they see all four chapters. We still do not know the vote of all members, we are still waiting for an answer from the official Zagreb, because there were several comments and insinuations in the part of how Croatia will vote when I believe that today the member states will strongly support Montenegro and everything that we have done in the past little more than a year, because I believe that we have shown readiness and set European integration as one of the main priorities of this Government. Gorcevic said.
She said that they are waiting for Zagreb's official position.
"On the basis of that, we will assess in which direction the closing of the chapters will go and how many chapters will be closed," said Gorčević in Boje jutra.
She said that if all the chapters are not closed, it will not mean blocking the European road to Montenegro.
"In the event that a certain state expresses concern or votes against a certain chapter, it means that they will ask for additional clarifications, that they will ask for certain additional items for that chapter, that we will have to make more of an effort," said Gorčević.
When asked if the Europe Now Movement (PES) regrets voting for the resolution in Jasenovac in the Parliament of Montenegro, Gorčević said that the reason for voting for the resolution was the culture of memory.
She said that due to the fact that the Government of Montenegro decided to cede the "Josip Marković" Cultural Center in Tivat to Croatia, she said that it was not agreed now, but that it was agreed in January last year by the then Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Filip Ivanović, and his Croatian colleague Gordan Grlić Radman.
