The arrest of former high-ranking police officer Duško Koprivica and his wife Radosava indicates the inseparability of cigarette and drug smuggling with organized crime, said the executive director of the Network for the Affirmation of the Non-Governmental Sector (MANS), Vanja Ćalović Marković.
As a guest on "Colors of the Morning" on Television Vijesti, she called for urgent reforms in institutions, especially regarding activities in the Free Zone of Port Bar.
She criticized the government for the lack of political will to solve these problems, stressing that the deep infiltration of criminal structures into state institutions remains a serious challenge.
The Special State Prosecutor's Office heard the Koprivica couple last night and ordered them to be detained for up to 72 hours.
Together with their son Strahinja and son-in-law Duško Roganović, they are accused of laundering more than one million euros.
The Koprivices were arrested in Nikšić, their son Strahinja is already in pre-trial detention, while Roganović is on the run.
