Due to the stabilization of weather conditions in Podgorica, which implies the cessation of stormy northerly winds, work on the renovation of the facade of the building on Slobode Street, which has been damaged on several occasions, is already starting today.
As explained in Boje jutra on TV Vijesti from the Capital City Housing Agency, the costs will be borne by this city company.
"Immediately after this unfortunate event, we contacted the representatives of the condominium owners with whom we have had a long-standing, fair cooperation. Given the passage of time, we are not formally legally obligated, but we have decided morally to make a concession, so that all repairs will be carried out at our own expense. Today, a mountaineering inspection of the entire building will be carried out, primarily to protect all healthy parts from decay. Tomorrow, a car crane with a basket will be hired, where our employees will remove all parts of the facade that are assessed to be prone to falling and in the end, we will install scaffolding where possible, and where not, we will look for other ways. Basically, we will immediately begin the renovation of the facade," explains Tanja Drakulović, from the Housing Agency.
Drakulović recalls that the facade was done about 12 years ago, and that the warranty on the work performed was seven years.
"For the Agency, the work on this facade was done 12 years ago, when the facade was done, and we had a seven-year warranty on the work performed. It was done partially, because the tenants did not have all the necessary money, so it was done piece by piece, which could have affected the quality of the work performed, because after all, the facade as the final envelope of the building should represent a compact whole. This is a very large and demanding building, at a great height, it is difficult to install scaffolding, so all of that could have indirectly or directly influenced what happened," adds Drakulović.
