The announced seven-day boycott of a retail chain, specifically Volija, is not the best solution, believes Milka Tadić Mijović, director of the Center for Investigative Reporting of Montenegro (CIN-CG), stating that it could cause market disruptions.
He says that the boycott of all large retail chains had its justification, but that the government must take action, because comparative analysis has shown that it is not just trade margins that are the problem.
Tadić Mijović also warned on Boje jutra on Vijesti Television that the boycott of a retail chain is not just an attack on the owners, but also on the employees.
Yesterday, Alternative Montenegro called on citizens to start a seven-day boycott of one retail chain starting Monday. Based on their Facebook poll, in which just over 6.500 people voted, that will start with Voli, which they called on to lower prices by Friday.
