Although many politicians consider themselves leaders, society does not perceive them as such, and authentic leaders are rare, because most of the political scene is divided and focused on short-term goals, said Budimir Raičković, president of the Association of Managers of Montenegro, in "Colors of Morning" on Vijesti Television.
"In our country, leadership often boils down to political interests instead of a long-term vision for the development of society. A true leader does not just look at the next election, but at the next decade. When we look at polls, we see that most politicians have ratings between two and three. That speaks volumes about how society sees them. A position does not automatically mean leadership – you become a leader through actions, not through a title," Raičković points out.
Although leadership is often associated with charisma, it is not essential. Key factors are organizational skills, strategic thinking, decision-making ability, and self-improvement.
"Montenegro must invest in creating a new generation of leaders who will have a clear vision, be open to criticism and ready to learn. Without that, we cannot expect long-term changes," says Raičković.
The Association of Managers of Montenegro has made a decision to establish the AMM Academy for Leadership, Management and Corporate Governance.
"The Academy is not just an AMM project, but a platform that will bring together people eager for knowledge and advancement. Our goal is to develop leaders who will lead society forward with their knowledge, vision and dedication," said Raičković.
