The Health Insurance Fund (FZO) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Zagreb-based Medikol polyclinic, so Montenegrin patients will be able to use their PET scanner in Podgorica, in a private clinic, within a month at the latest, announced the Fund's director, Vuk Kadić, on Boje jutra on TV Vijesti.
He says that this is another option for patients, in addition to Istanbul and Novi Sad.
Kadić also announced that the Fund will allocate 700 thousand euros for the purchase of PET scanners, as well as the construction of a new hematology clinic, which should be completed by the end of next year.
"The Clinical Center applied for a European project and won. The Clinical Center is obliged to purchase a PET scanner. The state is participating with 700.000 euros, which will be between 25 and 50 percent of the total value of the scanner. There will be a tender in April, and they are obliged to deliver the scanner in the second quarter of 2026," said Kadić.
He explained that the old oncology department will be relocated, and that the equipment will go to the old medical school, which will be adapted.
