The president of the Association of Rafters and Residents of Durmitor National Park, Veljko Ostojić, told Television Vijesti that despite the appeals of the residents of Đurđević Tara and the promises of former ministers of energy Saša Mujović and spatial planning Janko Odović, poles for the high-voltage transmission line Lastva-Čevo-Pljevlja are being erected.
Ostojić says that it is sad to see the destruction of the Tara River, the Tear of Europe, and again asks who gave permission to build such a power line through the National Park and protected area.
The residents of Đurđević Tara have repeatedly blocked the bridge over the Tara River in protest, because they do not want a power line through the village, which they claim will endanger their health, but also disrupt the nature in the Tara Canyon.
The then Minister of Energy, Saša Mujović, promised them that the state would try to find an alternative solution and bypass the village, while Odović then said that the cable could be buried under the village, although it would be more expensive, which is why the locals ended their protests and blockades in early 2024.
Incidentally, the trial on the lawsuit filed by the villagers of Đurđević Tara against CGES for the construction of a power line through the village is scheduled for May 23rd this year, but footage provided to Television Vijesti shows that the energy company began installing poles before the court's decision.
