At the National Competition in Biology, Geography and Chemistry, students from the "Petar I Petrović Njegoš" Gymnasium, Dunja Marković, Dajana Đuranović and Isidora Mrdak achieved outstanding results, winning high places in their disciplines. These talented students demonstrated dedication, effort and exceptional knowledge in their fields.

Dunja Marković, who won second place in biology, pointed out that her experience from elementary school and previous preparations helped her a lot.

"I have a lot of knowledge from elementary school, and also from the first grade when I was preparing for the Knowledge Olympiad. That required a lot of work. Now I have a lot of knowledge from the first grade, while the second year was a little harder for me, so it took me more time. There was some nervousness, but I managed," said Dunja.

On the other hand, Dajana, who won second place in geography, also relied on previously acquired knowledge and her great interest in this science.

"I had a good foundation and participated in the World Competition. Geography is very extensive, it is a combination of all sciences, and there is a lot that I can explore in my free time. My favorite is physical geography, and I am especially interested in culture and customs," said Dajana.

Isidora Mrdak particularly excelled in chemistry, and her mentor Sandra Kovačević emphasized how demanding the competition is.

"Competitive chemistry requires systematic work, research, and dedication. A special challenge is Isidora's result that leads her to the World Olympiad, which includes third and fourth year curriculum. I am delighted by her curiosity and inclination towards science, which has further motivated me. The biggest challenge is maintaining motivation and curiosity in students, especially in this time of instant solutions," said Kovačević.

Their success would not have been possible without the support and work of their mentors. Željko Vujović, Dunja's mentor, emphasized the importance of systematic work:

"It is a great responsibility for us teachers to give students the opportunity to show what they know through classes, supplementary and additional activities. This is an additional motive for us to work even harder, to motivate students and encourage their curiosity. Our high school is known for its good students and their knowledge."

Dajana's mentor, Ivan Stanišić, is proud of her continued success.

"It is a pleasure to work with talented children. Dajana has been at the top for three years and has participated in international competitions. It is an honor to be their teacher and mentor," Stanišić emphasized.

Their stories are proof that hard work, perseverance, and a love of science are the keys to success. These young talents continue to explore and strive for even greater achievements.
