The first phase of installing stationary radars should be completed by the end of the year, and at least 21 will be installed in locations from Podgorica to Budva, and in the Capital.
This was stated in Boje jutra on Vijesti Television, said Ilija Janjušević, Head of the Road Traffic Department of the Police Directorate.
"We hope to successfully implement the project of stationary radar systems by the end of the year. Although we do not have a definition of black spots, they will be placed on critical sections of roads. After analyzing traffic accidents, we have already determined the places where we had an increased number of traffic accidents where the cause was speeding, and we planned to place them there. This is a system that is already known in the countries of the region, but radars alone cannot solve all problems, we still need to step up controls," Janjušević pointed out.
During January and February, 892 traffic accidents occurred, in which six people lost their lives, while in the same period last year, nine people were killed.
