Every morning the same scene - cars looking for a parking space, nervous drivers, sirens blaring. This scene in front of the "Savo Pejanović" Elementary School worries both parents and school staff. The Boja jutra team also happened to be there during the school break and spoke about child safety with the principal of the "Savo Pejanović" Elementary School, who believes that children are not safe.
"Children are not safe, the space in front of our school, although it is not ours but the Capital City's, is used by us. Students have only twenty minutes to buy breakfast, they are in a hurry, often not paying attention to how they cross the street. At the same time, drivers arrive at the last minute to complete their duties, they are nervous and looking for parking, so a real collapse occurs. We are all afraid and watching."
School teachers and security guards are constantly monitoring the situation, but this is not a permanent solution. Therefore, the school is appealing to the authorities to close this street to traffic.
"We have approached the Capital City, we believe that this area should be converted into a pedestrian zone," Božović points out and adds an appeal to all traffic participants: "We advise both drivers and pedestrians to be careful. We must be aware that this is a school, that there are children here, and we must all take care of their safety together."
