On May 15, the Court of Appeal will consider the appeal of former Supreme Court President Vesna Medenica against the verdict sentencing her to six months in prison for abuse of office.
In November, Medenica was convicted by Judge Sonja Keković of the Special Department of the Higher Court for concealing information from the Judicial Council that a judge from Rožaje, Milosav Zekić, was being tried before the Kotor court, which is why he had to be suspended by force of law.
This allowed him to continue to perform his judicial duties and receive a salary.
Medenica's defense claims that she did not commit a crime and is seeking the reversal of the conviction.
The former head of the Montenegrin judiciary is on trial in two more cases.
