At Independence Square in Podgorica, the Montenegrin Army today presented some of the weapons, vehicles and equipment it uses in its daily work.
As part of the "Army in Your City" campaign, citizens had the opportunity to learn about the equipment of infantry units, the navy and the air force, but also to learn more about opportunities for education, employment and career advancement in the Army of Montenegro.
Weapons, uniformed personnel, specialized vehicles and helicopters - the central city square in Podgorica resembled a military base.
The Montenegrin Army presented part of its capacities as part of the "Army in Your City" campaign, the goal of which is to bring military service closer to citizens and encourage young people to join their ranks.
"Today in Podgorica you have the opportunity to see only a part of the sophisticated equipment and resources at the disposal of the Montenegrin Army. Today, infantry units and units of other branches and services, as well as units of the Air Force and Navy of the Army of Montenegro, present their equipment," said Nikolina Pejović, an officer.
The equipment they presented is used in real military operations, from regular tasks to specialized missions. The focus was also on educational opportunities, such as education at military academies, but also on upcoming competitions for military service and employment in the Army of Montenegro.
"Currently, there are competitions for enrollment in military academies, and in the coming period, a competition for voluntary military service will also be announced," said Pejović.
Among the visitors were those who were already determined to become part of the army.
The event was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Bečić and Minister of Defense Dragan Krapović.
