Investment activities ahead of the summer tourist season in Bar are being implemented according to the planned dynamics, Dušan Raičević, the mayor of Bar, told Boje jutra on TV Vijesti. However, the current challenge is the preparation of public beaches in the coastal zone, which have not yet been developed.

"Many of the tenants have not yet concluded contracts, so it is quite unprepared if we know that in previous years we had all the beaches in operation on May 1st, but I hope that all the tenants and the new ones who have just concluded contracts with Morski dobro will manage to prepare the beaches and temporary facilities," says Raičević.

Ahead of the tourist season, the traffic infrastructure is ready for "summer chaos", but parking spaces have not yet been marked, nor have prices been established, although the director of the Parking Service was elected in October, and a static traffic study has been conducted. Raičević says that this is one of the items on the agenda of the Bar Municipal Assembly session, which was twice without a quorum, but he expects that this issue will be defined soon.

"Prices will be the responsibility of the board of directors and the company, I hope they will accept our suggestions that the prices will be affordable for both the local population and the large number of tourists who visit our city. The goal is not to create additional income for companies through the establishment of the Parking Service, but to introduce communal order, which is especially needed during the peak season when parking spaces are not available," adds Raičević.

The study shows that there are plenty of parking spaces in the city, but that driver habits must also change, Raičević concludes.
