Regarding unofficial information that a new wastewater treatment plant could be built on the site of the former KAP factory, the Mayor of Zeta Municipality Mihailo Asanović emphasized in "Boje jutra" on TV Vijesti that he had not received such information officially, and that nothing is yet known precisely about the possible location.
"Regardless of where the plant is built, if Zeta is not connected to the collector network, we object to it being located on our territory. It is not fair that we bear the burden without benefit," said Asanović.
He adds that the impression is created that the collector "must" be in Zeta, although there are other possible locations in the territory of Podgorica.
Negotiations on the demarcation with the Capital are practically at a standstill, despite, as he emphasized, attempts by the Zeta municipality to agree on undisputed property and the distribution of equipment.
As Asanović states, "city companies did not share anything – not even a toothpick, let alone trucks, vehicle fleets or municipal machinery."
Asanović also answered viewers' questions about the problems with electricity. He claims that the outages will soon be resolved with a new substation in Golubovci, worth more than two million euros. It is expected to be put into operation by the end of the year.
Regarding the water problem, especially in Gornja Zeta, the president admits that the situation is complex because a local water company has not yet been established.
"Citizens are still paying for water to Vodovod Podgorica, and we do not have the mechanisms to directly solve the problem," he explained.
When it comes to public transport, Asanović states that Zeta is the only municipality in Montenegro where public transport is free, as the municipality subsidizes a private transport company. However, he acknowledges that there are problems with the frequency of lines and the availability of stations, especially towards Podgorica, which is partly a result, he points out, of the still undefined jurisdictions.
