Residents of the Lješanska nahija tell TV Vijesti's Boje jutra that they received promises from the authorities that they would receive water in February, but that did not happen. They will organize a protest in front of the Podgorica Municipality today at 15 pm because of their long-standing struggle.
"As you know, we blocked the place Kamenica, the main road, where we tortured traffic participants because we were forced to do so. We stopped those protests based on promises. Since December 12, we have had a letter from Vodovod that they have acquired all the legal conditions for removing the burden that was, allegedly, on that section. We are talking about the section only in Gornja Lješanska nahija, the section from the Stanislavića intersection to Kažića glavica. And it was promised that the works would begin according to the email they officially sent, starting in early February," said Dejan Popović.
They say they will radicalize the fight if the work doesn't start.
"We were with the mayor about a month ago, he promised us that he would send an emergency order to the Waterworks Department to continue the work, however, that did not happen either. I am counting on the mayor to use his authority to do something to get the work started, and so that we would no longer have to go out on the streets," adds Popović.
Work on one section began in 2021, when a catchment area was created in the village of Gradac, from where it was supposed to continue.
