After discussions with Arab investor Mohamed Alabar, the Municipality of Kolašin has not yet received feedback regarding possible investments in two key development projects presented to him, which relate to the areas of Bjelasica and Sinjajevina.

The Mayor of the Municipality, Petko Bakić, said in "Colors of Morning" on TV Vijesti that tourism and agriculture are their development opportunities and he sees no reason for opposition from the local community there either.

He emphasized that any major investment will be the subject of broader social dialogue, and that the opinions of citizens must be heard and respected.

"If serious investments are made, it is possible to organize a local referendum to get a clear view of the citizens. The will of the people must be the basis of every decision," he stressed.

In addition to potential investments, there are also current issues such as the project to divert water from the Ljevaja River, which is causing opposition from some local residents. Bakić reiterated that without water supply there is no further development of the city, especially considering the construction of new hotels and tourist infrastructure.

"All those who oppose this project are actually hindering the development of Kolašin," he said, adding that the project is legal, with all necessary permits, and that he expects the state to ensure its implementation.

Another important project for the city is a wastewater treatment plant, worth 12 million euros. Although the tender for the contractor failed because no one applied, the Municipality announces that the call will be repeated soon.
