Kindergarten enrollment begins today and will last until June 15th.

Electronic enrollment of children in public and private kindergartens begins today and lasts until June 15, Vesna Pejović, head of the Directorate for Preschool and Primary Education, told "Colors of Morning" on TV Vijesti.

"Children can enroll electronically via the portal www.upisi.edu.me or by personally coming to the counters of a public preschool or private kindergarten. When enrolling electronically, they only need to register on the platform and enter the child's ID number, and all documentation is automatically retrieved. So no documentation is required, and if they come to the kindergarten in person to enroll their child, they must bring the child's birth certificate and then fill out the application with information about the child," explains Pejović.

There will be places for children whose parents enroll within the specified period, however, if they enroll late, potentially, due to overbooking, they may have to wait until next year.

"Last year, 26.000 children were enrolled, and every year we have that five percent increase in enrolled children. Of that, 10.000 are enrolled in Podgorica, in private and state preschool institutions. The kindergartens are ready, but as I said, we will also work during the summer holidays to provide some alternative spaces if necessary, so that all children can be admitted. The project for the construction of a kindergarten in Siti Kvart and the reconstruction and extension of the kindergarten in Zabjelo is currently being written," adds Pejović.
