Montenegro is expected to experience mostly sunny and warm weather over the weekend. Dušan Pavićević, meteorologist and head of the TV Vijesti Weather Center, announced that the temperature will be only slightly lower – by a maximum of two degrees – compared to the previous days. The wind will be weak to moderate.

"Sea temperatures are already between 23 and 24 degrees, in some places even higher. They are expected to gradually rise in the coming days, because the wind we expect is not strong enough to affect the cooling of the sea surface," Pavićević said on "Colors of Morning" on TV Vijesti.

When it comes to the forecast for next week, it also brings stable and warm weather.

"If the current trend continues, this could be one of the warmest Junes, at least for Podgorica. However, we are far from the record from 2003, when the average temperature was as high as 35,7 degrees. This year, we have not yet recorded a day with that value," he adds.

Pavicevic reminded that yesterday was the 11th tropical day recorded in Podgorica, with temperatures exceeding 35,5 degrees.

Citizens are often confused by the fact that sometimes daytime temperatures in the north of the country are higher than in the south, especially during the early summer days. The meteorologist explains that this is a completely natural phenomenon, which has to do with the differences between land and sea.

"Land heats up and cools down much faster than the sea surface. That's why during the day, northern areas, especially when they are clear and without much wind, heat up faster than the coast. At night, the situation is reversed - then it is warmer in the south because the sea loses heat more slowly," explains Pavićević.
