Europe Now Movement (PES) MP Vasilije Čarapić said that he will initiate a meeting with representatives of the Šavnik opposition in the coming days to propose several models for resolving the institutional and electoral crisis in that city.
He stated this in the show Nedjelja u retrovizoru on Television Vijesti, stating that nothing concrete has yet been offered to party representatives who have been blocking the Nikšić-Šavnik-Žabljak road in a protest for three and a half months.
Yesterday, they announced that they were temporarily suspending the blockades for four days, adding that in communication with representatives of the parliamentary majority at the state level, they had recognized signs of readiness to finally resolve the three-year institutional crisis.
"We expect that within four days there will be concrete moves and solutions that will put an end to the multi-year blockade of institutions and the gross violation of the rights of the citizens of Šavnik," they stressed in the statement.
However, if there is no real progress and resolution of the situation by Thursday, they will continue with the blockades every day from 13 to 16 p.m.
They are protesting the re-election of Jugoslav Jakić from the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) as Mayor of the Municipality and the unresolved electoral crisis that has been going on since October 2022.
